To address social issues and contribute to the development of food culture

In a rapidly changing social environment, NARUMI seeks ways to address social issues. We do this through direct activities as well as indirect support. As a tableware manufacturer, we strive to contribute to the development of food culture through partnerships with other companies and organizations in the food industry. We also strive for technological innovation through external partnerships and joint research so as to expand our business sphere; this also expands the ways in which we can address social issues.

Supporting children and parents through tableware

Since 2012, NARUMI has donated a part of the profits from the sale of children’s tableware to Florence, a certified NPO. Florence is an organization that aims to help create “a society where everyone embraces their children, where people can take on any challenge while raising their children, and where families of all kinds are full of smiles.” In addition to donations, we support Florence by providing tableware for kids to be used at their nursing facilities, with the hope of helping them know the joy of dining.

In 2013, children’s rice bowls from the Crown Kids collection won the 7th Kids Design Award. We will continue to support the dining experience by creating products that are easy to use and loved by people of all ages.

Supporting the Pink Ribbon campaign

The Pink Ribbon campaign is a worldwide movement to raise awareness about the importance of having breast cancer screenings for early detection of the disease. Since 2012, we have been donating a part of the profits from the sale of the Felicita collection to the Japan Society of Breast Health, a certified NPO. The iconic motif of the collection—a ribbon consisting of miniature flowers—represents our wish for the health of all people.

Providing the gift for the G7 summit in Ise-Shima

In 2016, the G7 summit was held in Ise-Shima, Japan. The NARUMI coffee cup and saucer designed  and made especially for this occasion was presented to G7 leaders, the EU president, and the EU Commission president as a gift representing Japan. As our factory is located in the Ise-Shima National Park, the gift is imbued with the beauty of nature that we observe in the park. The motifs depicted are Kashikojima Island, where the summit was held, and the Ise Jingu shrine, which the G7 leaders visited. Each piece is a luxurious work of art and hand-painted individually.
